Prak Sis Mission
Prak Sis was founded in January 2009 as a not for profit art organization. Prak sis is a dynamic art experience, migrating to diverse locations across the cityscape. Prak Sis had transformed building spaces rendered vacant due to a downturn in the market, obsolescence, or neglect into art galleries. From these experiences Prak Sis has developed exciting projects in art expos and gallery shows. Prak Sis Project aims to show that even in times of economic crisis, life can blossom, a culture can grow and most of all, hope need not die.
For projects since the Fall of 2010, Prak Sis has worked with small businesses and neighborhood support organizations for mutual benefit. With technology flooding our modern lives, we seek to promote art in new media as well as traditional art forms. Prak Sis continues to further develop and focus on online projects as we organize physical art exhibitions, bridging the gap between new technologies and traditional artistic practices.
Subtitle of AXIS 2013:
Royal & Loyal
We believe that we need a ROYAL culture. In much of the social phenomena of today that we observe, we can see how we use our hopes in order to redefine ourselves to create a culture of happiness. Through art, I promote the projection of what we want to be, from the here-and-now into the future. I have found it easier to look at the present and the future rather than revisiting the past.
At the same time, I do not want to give the impression that the past is not important. History will always give us an important reference: a certain perspective that moves us forward. At this moment, however, we may want to see more of what is going to happen as well as what can happen. Prak-Sis focuses on sophisticated contemporary art while acknowledging concrete and traditional styles.
The United States of America was founded by immigrants who still strongly identify with their home countries. They have immigrated here for a better life. Their mother countries are steeped in traditions. Royalty is precisely built on these traditions. One can also witness that these traditions are based on the present. Each moment is creating the tradition, so much so, that you and I are building the tradition now.
From my experience, loyalty to friends and family is key to success. How do we maintain and nourish our loyalty? Let’s revisit the art festival for 2013. I would like to ask artists if we are loyal to our major medium. We can ask, how do we research or train ourselves to master the medium? How can gallerists and curators help to define this stage for an artist? We are inviting you to be our sponsor with contemporary mediums based on long traditions.
