Chicago crime map available

June 2, 2011
By Patrick Boylan

Trulia, a company best known for its database of home for sale and sold, has used public crime data to create a ‘heat map’ of crime. Chicago will be one of 50 cities in the first phase of the database rollout.

“Historically, detailed and easy-to-decipher crime reports haven’t been easily accessible to the average citizen, and Trulia aims to bring that data to light at the most important moment – when people are deciding where they should live,” co-founder and CEO Pete Flint said in a press release.

Go to Trulia to experience the crime map yourself.
