The upperclass Bell girls basketball team floundered with a 14-8 season ending loss to Onahan Tuesday night at Bogan High School.
The game started with Coach Mark Klein still engaged by the underclass game against Garvey. Klein came into the game cold, the loss of the underclass still running through him, as he tried to get up to speed on the upperclass game.
“It’s always difficult to go from one game to another,” Klein told The Bulldog after the game. “It’s also difficult to walk into the midst of a game, see it being played and not know what went on for the first nine minutes of the game. I felt loss and off in the second game.”
Brianna Love led the Bell team, scoring six points.
The team shut down the Onahan scoring in the third frame, but gave up three foul points and were held scoreless themselves in the final period.
Once again foul shots were key. Bell was also unable to connect on its foul shots in the final period. Bell gave up 17 fouls to Onahan. Onahan connected with six foul shots.
Onahan Coach Chris Witczak credited his team with a team win, “they work as hard as any high school team, with just a little of my guidance.”
